Zeeland West Varsity Dux defeated Oakridge Varsity Eagles 4-2 on Wednesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the sixth when Madison Wyckoff tripled, scoring two runs.

Oakridge Varsity Eagles opened the scoring in the first after Brenna Cabrera grounded out, scoring one run.

Emily Kragt singled to center field, which helped Zeeland West Varsity Dux tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

A single by Maddy Bowen gave Oakridge Varsity Eagles the lead, 2-1, in the top of the second.

Kragt doubled down the left field line, which helped Zeeland West Varsity Dux tie the game at two in the bottom of the third.

Wyckoff earned the win for Zeeland West Varsity Dux. The right-handed pitcher gave up three hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking four. Kylee Willea took the loss for Oakridge Varsity Eagles. The starting pitcher went six innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits, striking out nine and walking one.

Wyckoff and Kragt each drove in two runs for Zeeland West Varsity Dux. Kragt led Zeeland West Varsity Dux with three hits in three at bats. Riley Howe collected two hits for Zeeland West Varsity Dux in three at bats.

Zeeland West Varsity Dux will travel to Spring Lake for their next game on Tuesday.
