Varsity Dux Softball Win Game Two With Big Fourth Inning

Zeeland West scored seven runs in the fourth inning, which helped them defeat Northview Varsity 12-2 in the second game on Thursday. Jenna Hendricks singled for an RBI, Morgan Patrick singled for an RBI, Emily Kragt drew a walk scoring a run, Maddi Veersma walked scoring a run, Ellie Jobson drew a walk scoring one run, and Yessie Alejandro singled to bring in two runs.
The Dux took the lead in the third inning when Madi Wyckoff singled for two RBIs and Alexa Brott singled scoring one run. A wild pitch brought in another run putting the Dux up 4-2 going into the fourth inning.
Wyckoff earned the win for Zeeland West, throwing five innings with four hits, two runs scored, striking out five, and walking two.
The Dux collected 11 hits throughout the game. Jenna Hendricks had three hits in three at bats! Alejandro, Kragt, and Wyckoff each drove in two runs for Zeeland West. The team had patience at the plate with six walks.
The Dux Varsity is headed to Battle Creek Lakeview on Friday for a double header.
