Zeeland West fell to Unity Christian 4-1 on Thursday.
The score was 0-0 until the top of the 5th when the Crusaders put up four runs. Alexa Brott took the loss for the Dux as she went five innings, giving up four runs on seven hits, striking out three, and walking one. Brott was able to break the Zeeland West career strike out record during the game setting the new record at 434 strikeouts and counting.
Brott, Morgan Patrick, Ellie Jobson, and Madi Wyckoff each collected one hit for Zeeland West. Jobson was 1-3 at the plate and had the solo RBI for the team. ZW defense added a double play on the year during the game.
Zeeland West will host Buchanan on Friday for a double header.
